We didn't let a little rain ruin our day today. We enjoyed a fun afternoon at Pingles Farm, where we checked out the animals, the pumpkin canon show and did some apple picking.
We made apple crisp with the apples that we picked and everyone went home with a bag of apples and some apple crisp.
On Saturday we attended the Season Kick Off BBQ and Whitby Fury Game at the Iroquois Park Sports Centre. It was a great game that ended with a tied score of 3-3. We hope to attend another game in the future and support our local Durham Hockey Team.
We had a great time at Friday Nights Dance Rock event with DJ Arif. Always a good night ! Looking forward to next one on November 10th,
What's a beautiful thanksgiving weekend without the excitement of mini golf, a picnic lunch and a beautiful neighbourhood walk in perfect weather.
No hole in ones today, but a great time was had by all.
The group went to Scarborough Heritage Museum at Thomson Memorial Park this Saturday. They made a pumpkin craft, explored/toured the 100-150year old houses, watched the staff make chive pancakes on a fire, played with some old toys and drank apple cider. They walked to McDonald's for lunch. Another great day with friends!
We had another One-On-One day with Jen and Cindy. Jen spent the first day of October making some beautiful pieces of fall themed art! She drew a tree with roots, painted it black and then coloured in the various parts using oil pastel. She had a scrumptious lunch! Jen painted a wreath and decorated it with acorns, pinecones, flowers, leaves, etc. It looked fantastic! Jen collected leaves outside and painted them to use as stamps for thanksgiving cards. She turned one of the leaf stamps into a turkey!
Peter and Tammy enjoyed some One-On-One time at the Evergreen Brickworks today. It was a beautiful day to enjoy a 3 hour hike in the woods followed by lunch. Peter enjoyed the bridges as they passed under them and asked Tammy to take photos. Peter doesn't tire out very well, he wanted to continue hiking after lunch. He fell asleep on the ride home.
