A group of us headed to the Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday to watch the Marlies beat the Rochester Americans 3-2!!! A great afternoon of hockey, cheering and friends!!
Shawna, Sarah, Jenny, Kris, Katie, Derek Todd and I all had a fun night at Medieval Times! We enjoyed a great dinner and show! Unfortunately our knight did not win, but one of us lucky ladies did receive a yellow carnation!
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
In Flanders fields!
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
On Saturday Todd and Peter headed to the Royal Winter Fair and had a blast! They checked out tons of exhibits, fed the cows, saw the Super Dogs perform, and ate some tasty food!
November 7th was Jenny's 28th Birthday! We had an amazing time celebrating on the weekend! To start, Jenny, Shawna, Katie and I went to the theatre production Aladdin, which was FANTASTIC!! After the show, Derek, Peter, Krissy, Todd and Jenny's Mom Bonnie all joined us at Jenny and Shawna's home for some pizza, icecream cake and presents! What a great night had by all!!
Near the end of October, Jenny's Mom had a conference in St. Catherines for a couple days, which presented the option for Jenny and I to tag along, and have a mini trip away!
We had a great time in our hotel, making use of the swimming pool and hot tub, in the evenings going out for tasty dinners, and taking advantage of the gorgeous Niagara region!
On the Tuesday, Jenny and I headed to Balls Falls Conservation Park! It was absolutely gorgeous! The sun was shining, and the beautiful fall colours made for a perfect hike to see two stunning waterfalls!
On Wednesday before heading back to Toronto, we decided to head into Niagara Falls and check out the Butterfly Conservatory! Had a great time looking at all the butterfly's, who absolutely loved Jenny and kept landing on her! We took the long ride back to our hotel, and checked out Clifton Hill and up Lundy's Lane talking about memories from our last two group trips to Niagara Falls!
All in all, Jenny and I had a great trip away! Thanks Bonnie!!
