Thursdays day program started a little chilly as we hiked through the wind into the Pan Am Centre for our weekly walk. We warmed up nicely in the afternoon enjoying snuggles with Joshua. Looking forward to our next visit from him!!
Our party day began by wishing one of Imagine Respite’s participants, Peter, a very happy birthday! We had our hats, sound makers and jelly beans ready to go! We enjoyed a home made lunch followed by making and eating chocolate chip cookies! Jen, Kaytie and Derek then completed their craft of fireworks using paint and glitter to help ring in 2018! We enjoyed having a special furry guest, Whiskey, join us for the party! Happy new year everyone!
Ladies Night with Jenny & Shawna was a hoot! Yummy tacos were this evening’s dinner and they were tasty! Following dins, the girls decorated ‘Ugly Sweater cookies’, afterwards enjoying one of their creations for dessert! We ended our evening with a fun game of Scooby-Doo Make a Match Game!
This past Thursday was the last Ladies’ Day Program of 2017 and we rocked it! Jen, Krissy and Jenny got their exercise in first thing at the Pan Am Centre, followed by a homemade lunch! Our craft entailed painting fireworks in preparing for the new year followed by yoga and relaxation! 2017 was a great time! Looking forward to 2018!
The afternoon started with delicious Caribbean-themed food! From there, we headed to the annual Toronto Christmas Market. We witnessed the tallest Christmas tree, ate tasty maple fudge and warmed our bellies with hot chocolate as we strolled around the stores and booths! Note: individuals with specials needs and/or disabilities, along with their caregivers, receive free access to the market!
Derek and Peter are getting excited with Christmas on the way! The tree is decorated, Christmas music is playing and decorations are hung! Just ‘bout ready for Santa! All this work deserved some breakfast for dinner. Yum! The cold doesn't keeps Imagine Respite inside. Especially when the outing is The Santa Brunch Cruise! Fun, food, and friends make a great day when you're out on the lake.
Sunday, the Imagine Respite group attended the World's Greatest Christmas Party at Variety Village. This family-friendly event featured a special visit with Santa, tasty treats and refreshments. Everyone enjoyed the arts and crafts, entertainment, games and activities. We also welcomed our newest member of the Imagine Respite Team - Susan to her first outing with the group!
What a fun and busy day Imagine Respite had on Saturday December 2nd! Participants were preparing for the holidays and starting the month off in good spirits. The group jammed to Christmas music and worked hard making cards and gifts for their friends and family, like busy elves in their workshop!
To start off the day, half of the group made cards and the other half made reindeer hot chocolate packs for a gift. Everyone helped chop toppings and prepare their own mini pizza. They ate salad while they waited for them to bake. Delicious! The group then made their marble mugs with nail polish in water. Most of them turned out really cool! Then the groups switched the activities from the morning. So they all had cards and reindeer hot chocolate packs made! I think smashing the candy canes was everyone's favourite part! They filled one of their mugs with chocolates and the other with their reindeer hot chocolate pack and wrapped them nicely. The finished products! Hope everyone enjoys their gifts! |
