Julie Burrows
Owner & Program Director

Picture
Hi! My name is Julie Burrows. Thank you for visiting Imagine Repsite's website! I truly appreciate all the support!

I am a highly motivated Child Youth Worker and Support Worker, and am providing a variety of Respite Services to young adults with an intellectual disability.

I received my three year diploma in Child and Youth Work from Centennial College in 2006. I have worked in behavioural classrooms and group homes, and over the past several years I have worked with people of all different ages, disabilities and needs within the home, community and school.

In the spring of 2010 I volunteered at a school and orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. In order to make the volunteering experience successful, both myself and Robyn, a fellow Child and Youth Worker, spent months planning, fundraising and organizing a two week camp; we also sent a shipment of supplies. The shipment included supplies to run the camp and included boxes of arts and crafts and bags full of sports equipment. Along with the camp necessities, we also sent clothing, bicycles, bedding, toys and so much more! Lastly, we raised money to contribute to the building of a new high school in order to provide students with the opportunity to further their education past grade 8; this process would have been delayed extensively without our fundraising. We had an incredible experience with the children, teaching them games, sports, songs, and crafts! Our number one goal was to put a smile on the children's faces, which we definitely succeeded in!

I look forward to using my previous experience and professional skills to provide a fun and educational experience for your son or daughter.

Leah Myland
Program Facilitator & Support Worker

Picture
My name is Leah and I am a graduate of Centennial College’s Recreation and Leisure Services Program.  From a young age I enjoyed helping others, a trait instilled in me by my parents as social workers.  I began volunteering at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab (formerly Bloorview MacMillan) and found a passion for working with people with special needs.  In high school I took an adapted class and ran gym classes once a week at Osler High School . While completing my diploma I did a one year placement at Variety Village working in Outreach and both of their day programs for adults with disabilities.

For the past five years I have been working with the City of Toronto running adapted programs for children, youth and adults as well as working as an Integration Worker supporting children with special needs in recreational programs such as swimming, skating and cooking.  I am so happy to be a part of the Imagine Team and to have the opportunity to support young adults in their independence and provide activities to enrich their lives.

PROGRAM FACILITATOR & SUPPORT WORKER

My name is Corey-Anne Rossi, I am a proud graduate of Ryerson University, with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work. I am delighted to be a part of the Imagine Respite.

I have always had a passion for working with individuals with developmental disabilities. I started my early career in social work and as a part of my studies, volunteered with The Centre for Dreams. As part of this placement, I had the pleasure of working with members, helping them achieve personal goals. In addition to volunteering at Centre for Dreams, I had the opportunity to work with York Support Services, providing case management to the families of those with disabilities.

I have always been a proud advocate and supporter of individuals with disabilities. Imagine Respite Services will give me the opportunity to help its participants live an enriched, independent and full life. I strongly believe that all people, including those with developmental disabilities, deserve the chance to live the life they desire and truly deserve without any restrictions.
