Julie Burrows Owner & Program Director
Hi! My name is Julie Burrows. Thank you for visiting Imagine Repsite's website! I truly appreciate all the support!
I am a highly motivated Child Youth Worker and Support Worker, and am providing a variety of Respite Services to young adults with an intellectual disability.
I received my three year diploma in Child and Youth Work from Centennial College in 2006. I have worked in behavioural classrooms and group homes, and over the past several years I have worked with people of all different ages, disabilities and needs within the home, community and school.
In the spring of 2010 I volunteered at a school and orphanage in Kampala, Uganda. In order to make the volunteering experience successful, both myself and Robyn, a fellow Child and Youth Worker, spent months planning, fundraising and organizing a two week camp; we also sent a shipment of supplies. The shipment included supplies to run the camp and included boxes of arts and crafts and bags full of sports equipment. Along with the camp necessities, we also sent clothing, bicycles, bedding, toys and so much more! Lastly, we raised money to contribute to the building of a new high school in order to provide students with the opportunity to further their education past grade 8; this process would have been delayed extensively without our fundraising. We had an incredible experience with the children, teaching them games, sports, songs, and crafts! Our number one goal was to put a smile on the children's faces, which we definitely succeeded in! I look forward to using my previous experience and professional skills to provide a fun and educational experience for your son or daughter.
Tammy Lyle-Gravlev Program Development Coordinator
I was introduced to Julie Burrows, Founder of Imagine Respite, in 2013 while I was working at Variety Village. Julie's core values in regards to teaching and supporting independence through personalized programming for individuals, are very similar to my own. Therefore, it seemed only natural that shortly after our initial introduction, I started working with Imagine Respite Services on a casual basis facilitating programs and outings.
As a parent of a child with special needs, I understand the challenges in finding effective and inclusive programming. Having acquired a background in Sport Administration & Recreation and being a graduate of the Georgian College Recreational Therapy Post Graduate program, I became a strong advocate of teaching skills to support an independent lifestyle. I also value the importance of including wellness, fitness and healthy nutrition in all programs to aid in our participants overall quality of life. I have created strong relationships with clients, their parents and other caregivers. It is through these bonds and trusting relationships that I have had the privilege of participating in a number of memorable opportunities including travelling overseas with participants on behalf of Imagine Respite Services. Working with Imagine Respite Services has supported both my own personal and professional growth and the gratitude gained from watching the participants grow, develop and enjoy a quality of life with friends via the social activities we provide is truly an amazing experience that I am very thankful for and enjoy immensely.
Cindy Hamilton Program Facilitator & Support Worker
My name is Cindy Hamilton and I am thrilled to be a part of the Imagine team! Growing up with a sister who has special needs gave me the inspiration to start working in this field. I currently have 9 years of experience working with children and adults of various abilities. I began as a Leader and have thrived as a Program Director and Integration Worker (1-1 support) for the City of Toronto Adapted and Integrated Summer Camps and Recreational Programs that run throughout the year.I have also worked privately in Respite for children and adults in the past.
I have a BA Honours in Theatre Studies at York University. My passion for art coincides with my passion for working with people with special needs and Icurrently use my knowledge and experience to run activities in visual arts and photography for adults. I look forward to making new memories with Imagine!
Avinash Sudama Program Facilitator & Support Worker
My name is Avinash, a father of three and overall active adult. I hold a Diploma with Honours in Community and Justice Services, as well as a Degree in Criminology and Justice. One valuable thing that came to me in my time in post-secondary education is this: I belong in the community.
As of 2017 I have had 11 years of experience working with adults and youth with a range of abilities. This experience comes from working in a recreational setting, as well as in a day program to develop a variety of skills, including home and lifestyle skills. In addition to my work experience I have personal life experience with children with special needs, having two boys of my own. I understand the concerns parents can have for their children, and I work to minimize those while working to create the most of the day for Imagine's participants. I try to end each day with positive experiences to tell the parents, from a hole in one while mini golfing to laughing and chatting away with friends on the drive. I look forward to working with you.

In 2008, Robynn graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) where she gained her designation as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). She specializes in the use of diet and natural nutrition as necessary aspects in achieving the best possible levels of health and wellness for her participants.
A Certified Coach Practitioner with the Certified Coaches Federation and a Life Skills Coach and George Brown College graduate, she believes in living life with balance, moderation, and using her knowledge and life experience to facilitate her participants on achieving their potential while assisting them in experiencing life to the fullest.
Leah Myland Program Facilitator & Support Worker
My name is Leah and I am a graduate of Centennial College’s Recreation and Leisure Services Program. From a young age I enjoyed helping others, a trait instilled in me by my parents as social workers. I began volunteering at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab (formerly Bloorview MacMillan) and found a passion for working with people with special needs. In high school I took an adapted class and ran gym classes once a week at Osler High School . While completing my diploma I did a one year placement at Variety Village working in Outreach and both of their day programs for adults with disabilities.
For the past five years I have been working with the City of Toronto running adapted programs for children, youth and adults as well as working as an Integration Worker supporting children with special needs in recreational programs such as swimming, skating and cooking. I am so happy to be a part of the Imagine Team and to have the opportunity to support young adults in their independence and provide activities to enrich their lives.
